Colombian whole bean coffee is well-balanced. It offers a rich flavor and aroma without being overpowering, especially when served as a light or medium roast. Ideally, you should grind your Colombian whole bean coffee just before using it. In reality, that may not always be possible, so here are some tips that will allow you to enjoy great-tasting coffee, even if you must prepare it ahead of time.

1. Store ground coffee in an airtight container.

When coffee is ground, more of its surface area is exposed. This is desirable when it comes to brewing since it allows all of the flavor to be extracted. However, ground coffee can quickly go stale. If you must grind your Colombian whole bean coffee ahead of time in order to save time on busy mornings, you can offset this effect by keeping your coffee in an airtight container. When grinding your coffee ahead of time, try not to grind more than you can use in a single week. This will allow the majority of your coffee to stay as fresh as possible until you get around to using it.

2. Refrigerate leftover coffee.

If you typically drink a lot of coffee, coffee brewers that brew single cups of coffee may not be economical for you. Brewing a whole pot of coffee can be a time-saver for households that drink a lot of this classic beverage. However, allowing your pot of coffee to sit out for hours can degrade its flavor. You can ensure that your Colombian coffee stays fresh by refrigerating any leftovers immediately. Refrigerated coffee can be a delightfully refreshing treat when served cold as iced coffee.

3. Add cream and sugar to your coffee.

Colombian whole bean coffee offers a flavor that is not too bitter. However, if you find that your coffee tastes slightly less fresh the next day, you can spruce it up with cream and sugar. A little sugar can make coffee less bitter without completely overwhelming its natural flavor. The addition of cream, milk, or the milk substitute of your choice can add a rich smoothness to your Colombian coffee.

4. Make coffee ice cubes.

Leftover iced coffee can be a great treat on a hot day. However, some people avoid iced coffee because they don't like the taste of coffee that has been watered down. You can avoid watery iced coffee by using leftover Colombian coffee to create coffee ice cubes.
